Description.
When the ECG cable is connected to the LIFEPAK 1000 defibrillator, it provides the ECG display with the patient's heart rhythm and shows a graphic of it. The ECG cable can be exchanged with the electrodes whet the LIFEPAK 1000 is switched off. When the ECG electrodes are connected, the Lifepak 1000 shows the heart rhythm and heart rate on the screen of the defibrillator. This is only for usage as temporary monotoring.
Using the ECG mode, the defibrillator's capacity to shock is disabled, but it still evaluates for a potentially schockable rhythm. However, this doesn't mean that the patiënt has a heartbeat. When a schockable rhythm is detected, the Lifepak 1000 AED will instruct to connect the electrodes. Please remove the ECG cable and connect the electrodes with the defibrillator. Thereafter follow the defibrillator's instructions regarding to placing the electrodes and follow schock protocol.
